Steal a Brainrot looks like a simple game: you buy funny characters, they earn money, and you steal other players' ones. In practice, a lot depends on whether you know when to lock your base, what not to sell and how to prepare for a rebirth. This guide walks you through your first hours in the game. Status as of October 2026.

Steal a Brainrot is a game by the group BRAZILIAN SPYDER, which launched on 15 May 2025. According to the wiki, in October 2025 it broke a Roblox record with over 25 million players at the same time.
The whole game revolves around four things:
- You buy Brainrots from the Red Carpet, the red carpet they walk along.
- Brainrots in your base earn money every second.
- You steal Brainrots from other players' bases and defend your own.
- You do a rebirth, which resets part of your progress but gives you a multiplier and new items.
Your first minutes in the game
You start with $100 and a hint to buy Noobini Pizzanini. It costs $25 and earns $1 per second, so it is just a warm-up. Collect the money from your base and buy better and better Brainrots.
A few things about the Red Carpet that are worth knowing right away:
- Common Brainrots show up most often (about 55% of spawns), then Rare and Epic.
- A Brainrot you bought walks to your base. During that time, another player can take it over by paying 150% of the base price. Then the Brainrot turns around and goes to them.
- When a Brainrot God or Secret appears, the game announces it to the whole server. That is a sign that things are about to get crowded.
A general rule for the start: fill the empty slots in your base, and once they run out, swap your weakest Brainrots for better ones. You can find the exact income ranges for each rarity in our ranking of the best Brainrots.
Your base and the lock
The base is the place where your Brainrots stand and earn money. At the start it has one floor and 10 slots. You unlock the second floor at Rebirth 2 and the third at Rebirth 10.
The most important part of defense is the base lock. It lasts 60 seconds, every rebirth adds 10 seconds, and the VIP gamepass gives a permanent extra 10 seconds. During that time nobody can get inside.
The wiki gives an important tip here: when someone starts robbing you and your base is open, lock it first, and only then chase the thief. If you leave the door open, several players will run in at once and you won't be able to stop them all.
Good news for those who can't play all day: Brainrots also earn while you are offline. It is only about 3% of the normal income, though, and for a maximum of 5 hours after you leave the game.
How to steal Brainrots
Stealing is the heart of this game. When someone's base is not locked, you can walk in, grab a Brainrot and carry it to your base. You have to deal with some drawbacks, though:
- while carrying a Brainrot, you move about 41% slower and jump 40% lower,
- you can't use gears (Gears) while carrying it,
- the owner gets a loud alarm and a message saying which Brainrot is being stolen.
What is worth stealing? According to the wiki, the best targets are Brainrots with a higher rarity, higher income, a good mutation and high demand. Stealing a weak Brainrot is usually wasted effort, because the risk is the same. The wiki also advises switching servers after a successful steal.
How to defend your base
Every player gets a Bat at the start. When you hit someone who is carrying a Brainrot with it, the Brainrot goes back to its spot in your base. It is the simplest way to get your loot back.
More tips from the wiki:
- Swap the Bat for a Slap as soon as you can. It has a bigger hit range.
- Traps work best on the third floor, because a thief can't jump over them or go around them there.
- Don't get into other people's fights in the middle of the map. It is easy to get hit yourself and waste time.
Gears
You buy gears with in-game money in the Shop, and more of them unlock with rebirths. They do two things: they make stealing easier or let you annoy other players.
At Rebirth 1 you unlock Iron Slap, Gravity Coil and Bee Launcher, and at Rebirth 4 Invisibility Cloak, among others. This cloak helps you sneak up on someone's base unnoticed and gives a stronger speed boost than Speed Coil.
Rebirth step by step
A rebirth takes the required Brainrots and most of your money. In return you get an income multiplier, a cash bonus for a fresh start, +10 seconds of lock, an extra slot in your base and access to new gears. The requirements for the first five levels according to the wiki:
- Rebirth 1: $500K, Trippi Troppi and Gangster Footera.
- Rebirth 2: $1.5M, Boneca Ambalabu and Brr Brr Patapim. Unlocks the second floor.
- Rebirth 3: $12.5M, Trulimero Trulicina and Chimpanzini Bananini.
- Rebirth 4: $35M, Chef Crabracadabra and Glorbo Fruttodrillo.
- Rebirth 5: $100M, Frigo Camelo and Orangutini Ananassini.
From Rebirth 5 to 16, just one specific Brainrot per level is enough. There are currently 19 rebirths in total, and the last one requires $30Qa and La Grande Combinasion.
A practical tip from the wiki: check the requirements list ahead of time and keep the Brainrots you need before you save up the money. Then you can do the rebirth right away, without searching for them at the last minute.
Events worth checking
- Saturday update: every Saturday, usually at 3:00 PM US Eastern time (the evening in Europe), a new update arrives. Right after it, Sammy hosts Admin Abuse, which usually lasts 30-60 minutes. It spawns rare Brainrots and turns on luck multipliers.
- Early bird: players who are in the game roughly an hour before the event often get a gift, usually a Secret Lucky Block.
- Taco Tuesday: a separate Admin Abuse event on Tuesdays.
The most common beginner mistakes
- Selling everything without thinking. A sale can't be undone. The game asks for confirmation only for higher rarities, from Mythic up.
- Getting rid of Brainrots needed for a rebirth. Trippi Troppi or Boneca Ambalabu look weak, but without them you can't do the next level.
- Chasing the thief with an open base. Lock first, chase after.
- Trading with strangers on their word. Before you hand over a valuable Brainrot, read how trading works in Roblox games and how not to get scammed.
