Steal an Egg latest update: Mounts and races (October 2026)

The latest Steal an Egg update came out on Saturday, 10 October 2026, at 17:00 CEST (15:00 UTC). On the game page on Roblox it was teased with the slogans "Mounts are coming!" and "RIDE YOUR PETS!". For the first time you can climb onto your own pet and race other players. As of 13 October 2026.

What are Mounts

A mount is a pet you ride. You don't need to look for a special animal: according to HoldToReset, any pet you own can become a mount.

How to do it:

1. Get a Mount Star (Bloxodes also calls it a Shooting Star).
2. Walk up to a pet in your base and feed it the star.
3. Open the displayed pets menu on the right side of the screen, find the mount and click the green Ride button.

Two things worth knowing before you use a star. According to Bloxodes, turning a pet into a mount can't be undone. On top of that, both guides agree that a mount gives no extra Speed or other bonuses, only a different look. So it's worth thinking carefully about which pet you pick.

Where to get Mount Stars

For free, at night. At night in the game, a Star Drop can happen. It's a random event, separate for each server. The sources differ in the details: HoldToReset says every player on the server gets a star, Roonby says everyone has to find and catch their own. Bloxodes adds that you have to be on the server from the start of the in-game day.

With Robux. At spawn there is a Star Handler (according to Bloxodes it's called Stellaris) that sells stars in packs of 1, 3 and 5. Bloxodes gives a limit of 5 stars per week, resetting on Saturdays.

Racing Event: races every 30 minutes

Races arrived together with mounts. According to the guides, they work like this:

• Start: every 30 minutes. A portal appears in one of the biomes, and the announcements tab shows its location.
• Track: three laps on your pet, with speed strips, power-ups and obstacles. Roonby warns about tentacles, fire, eggs on the track and sharp turns, because mounts take wide corners.
• Requirements: Bloxodes says you don't need any minimum Speed. Everyone starts on the basic Ostrich.
• Reward for winning: 1 Win and 2500 Trophies.

Wins move you along the Win Pass track. According to Bloxodes it has 14 tiers up to 35 wins, and the rewards include eggs and new mounts: Seahorse (1 win), Lizard (5), Bird (15), Cheetah (21) and Snail (30). The other tiers give Trophies.

Nobody has confirmed the multiplier of the new Nitro mutation or what the Racing Bat does yet. HoldToReset adds that the racing event may last only one week, so it's worth checking the event window in the game.

What's next: Halloween

According to the game's event list, on 17 October at 17:00 CEST our time, Halloween Dimension starts, scheduled until 24 October. The developers announce a two-part event with a gate to a Halloween dimension, bosses and secret eggs.
