Grow a Garden 2: what's new and how the game looks in October 2026

Grow a Garden 2 has been on Roblox since 12 June 2026. By October the game has had more than a dozen updates, two separate seasonal worlds and a Halloween event. We collected what is new and how things stand today, 12 October.

Launch and creators

According to games.gg, the game opened at 10:00 Pacific Time, which was 19:00 in Central Europe. GosuGamers reported that 20 minutes after launch more than 400 thousand people were playing at the same time.

On the game's Roblox page, the creator is the verified group Strawberreh Squad. That is a different group from The Garden Game, which publishes the first Grow a Garden. The basics are the same: you buy seeds, plant them, sell the crops for Sheckles, and your garden keeps growing even when you are offline.

What is new compared to the first game

Free stealing. In the first game, stealing a fruit cost 37 Robux. In the second one every night is stealing time and it costs nothing. Your garden is safe as long as you are standing in it. You can hit the thief with a Shovel and get your fruit back.

Short day cycle. A whole day lasts 10 minutes: 7.5 minutes of day, 30 seconds of sunset and 2 minutes of night. At night a Gold Moon, Rainbow Moon, Blood Moon or Mega Moon can appear.

Guilds. Creating a guild costs 99 Robux, but you can join someone else's for free with an invite. A guild holds up to 50 people, and guilds compete for weekly rewards.

Pets on the map. Besides eggs, pets appear in random spots on the map with a countdown timer. You buy them for Sheckles before they disappear. Each pet can show up as a Big, Mega or Rainbow version with a stronger ability.

New selling. Instead of haggling there is Double or Nothing: you double the value of your backpack or lose everything. There is also the Daily Deal, which is a sale for 2.2 times more once every 12 hours.

Most important updates

According to the game wiki's update log:

• 19 June: the plant Venom Spitter, the pet Bear, Aurora Borealis weather.
• 21 June: the Strawberry Sniper weapon and the return of Daily Deals.
• 23 June: Black Dragon as a guild reward.
• 27 June: the auction stall (Auction Stand).
• 3 July: the pet Butterfly, Fire Fern and Rocket Pop seeds.
• 12 July: Star Fruit with the Glow mutation (x100), Sun Bloom, Eclipse weather and the pet Firefly.
• 19 July: guild chat and the Explorer Stand.

Since August, new content has mostly come through separate worlds. On 2 August Fall Harvest started, an autumn version of the map with its own currency Leaves and separate progress saving. From 22 August to 3 September the Muffin Bake Event ran, with muffin baking.

October: Ghoul Garden

On 1 October Ghoul Garden started, a Halloween world you enter through the Explorer Stand. It has its own currency Candy Corn and several new mechanics:

• Witch's cauldron. At night you brew seeds and items in it, for example Night Shade or Briar Rose. Every recipe has a chance to fail, and the ingredients are lost.
• Monsters. Every 1-4 minutes a Giant Spider, Skeleton or Zombie appears on the map. You defeat them with a Shovel, and they drop ingredients for the cauldron.
• Pumpkin Smash. Every 25 seconds pumpkins to smash appear on the map, with rewards.

On top of that there are 12 new pets, including Gargoyle, Dire Wolf, Ghost Dog and Vampire Fox.

How the game is doing today

The game's Roblox page shows over 1.67 billion visits and over 663 thousand favorites. The last update was on 6 October 2026. When we checked on 12 October, about 2.9 thousand people were playing the second game at the same time, and about 21.6 thousand were playing the first Grow a Garden. The player count changes every hour, but it is clear the first game is still holding strong. Since 10 October it has been running the Fairy Event 2026.
