In Adopt Me! you won't find a list of mutations with multipliers, like in games about plants or brainrots. Instead, there are two pet variants: Neon and Mega Neon. Below you'll find how to make them, how long it takes and roughly how players value them.

Does Adopt Me have mutations and multipliers?

Short answer: not in the way other Roblox games do. The game doesn't give any "x2" or "x10" for a Neon or a Mega Neon. The pet's look changes, and its value comes from how much work and how many copies you put into it.

Neons were added in July 2019. Mega Neons came later. There are no further Neon levels after the Mega Neon. So there are three variants in total: a regular pet, a Neon and a Mega Neon.

All pet variants

  • Regular pet: the standard look, grows from Newborn to Full Grown.
  • Neon: a pet with a clear glow on selected body parts, and the glow color is different for each pet.
  • Mega Neon: glows in the same places as a Neon, but the colors cycle through the rainbow. There are exceptions: some pets, for example Evil Unicorn, have their own palette.

An example from this season: the Neon Jester Dragon from Halloween 2026 glows red on its paws, nostrils, parts of the mask, collar and spikes, and on half of the pattern on its body, wings and hat. The Mega Neon glows in the same places, but the colors change. The Jester Dragon page on the wiki shows both variants in pictures. Jester Dragon is Legendary and came out on 3 October 2026 together with the Halloween Event.

How to make a Neon

You need four pets of the same type, all at the Full Grown stage. A pet grows through the stages Newborn, Junior, Pre-Teen, Teen, Post-Teen and Full Grown, and you earn progress by doing tasks (eating, drinking, sleeping, bathing, playground).

Then you go to the Neon Cave. The cave is under the main bridge between Adoption Island and Neighborhood. The wiki describes the Neon Cave like this: you place four pets on the three outer circles and one inner circle. After a short animation, a Neon appears in the middle.

Be careful, because it can't be undone. The four pets disappear, and the new Neon starts at the Reborn stage, so you also lose all the progress.

How to make a Mega Neon

This is where the real grind starts. A Neon has its own age path: Reborn, Twinkle, Sparkle, Flare, Sunshine and Luminous. Tasks age the Neon step by step up to Luminous, and only then is it ready for a Mega Neon.

You need four Luminous Neons of the same type and you go back to the same cave. Each Neon is four pets, so a Mega Neon starts from sixteen Full Grown pets. The higher the pet's rarity, the longer it takes to age it.

Two things that speed it up:

  • You can get Luminous pets in trades, so you don't have to do everything from scratch.
  • Age-Up Potion speeds up aging a pet.

Exceptions and Fly/Ride

Not every pet can be used. A Neon can't be made from these pets: Pet Rock, Scooba, Pumpkin, Burtaur and MFR Sandwich. A Mega Neon can't be made from these pets: Pet Rock, Scooba, Pumpkin and Burtaur.

Fly and Ride are separate abilities from potions, not variants. If any of the pets you fuse has Fly or Ride, the Neon or Mega Neon inherits that ability. That's why trades use short forms like NFR (Neon Fly Ride).

Mega Neon Paints

Since the Pet Paints update, you can change the rainbow color cycle. You do it in the Salon, on a Mega Neon. This year in Halloween Week 3, for example, the Blue Boohoo Mega Neon Paint was added for 49 Robux. It's only cosmetic and doesn't change the type or abilities.

How much are they "worth": multipliers from trades

There are no official multipliers, but players count value in trades, often in Ride Potions (RP). According to the u7buy site, a Neon is roughly four times a regular pet, and a Mega Neon is again about four times a Neon.

Jester Dragon example according to the u7buy site from 9 October 2026: regular about 11 RP, Neon about 48 RP, Mega Neon about 200 RP. For Skelicorn, the same site gives 1.8 RP, 7-8 RP and 29-34 RP. These are estimates from the community and the site, not data from the game, and they can change from day to day.

Before a trade, take a look at the guide to safe trades in Roblox. A swapped variant (a Neon instead of a Mega Neon) is a classic scammer trick, so always check the icons in the trade window.

Where to start

A Neon is easier to make from a pet that is simple to get, because copies are the bottleneck. In the Halloween Event, some pets are available for Candy Corn. Week 3 brought Stitches, Boohoo, Shoebill and Copycat. Some pets are also in the DzikShop store for Adopt Me, next to other options.

Just starting the game? First look through the beginner's guide to Adopt Me!, because without knowing how to care for pets, the Neon Cave is a long road.

Frequently asked questions

Does Adopt Me have mutations like Grow a Garden?

No. Adopt Me has only two pet variants, Neon and Mega Neon, and neither has a numeric multiplier in the game. Their value comes from how many pets you have to use up and from prices in trades.

How many pets do you need for a Neon and for a Mega Neon?

A Neon is four Full Grown pets of the same type. A Mega Neon is four Luminous Neons, which makes 16 basic pets in total.

Where is the Neon Cave in Adopt Me?

The cave is under the main bridge that connects Adoption Island and Neighborhood. That is where you place pets on the circles and fuse them.

Can every pet be turned into a Neon?

Almost every pet. According to the wiki, the exceptions are Pet Rock, Scoob, Pumpkin, Burtaur and MFR Sandwich, and the first four can't be made into a Mega Neon.
