Grand Piece Online (GPO) is a pirate RPG inspired by One Piece: you do quests, gain levels, learn fighting styles and hunt for Devil Fruits. The game has no tutorial, so it is easy to get lost. This guide walks you through the first hours step by step (as of 19 October 2026).

What kind of game is it

GPO is made by the studio Grand Quest Games. You fight with four kinds of weapons: fighting styles, swords, guns and Devil Fruits. According to the game description on Roblox, the max level is currently 675. The world is split into two seas: First Sea and Second Sea, and Second Sea is a separate server for higher levels.

In October 2026 the Halloween event is running. Its second part has been live since 17 October and, according to the GPO Values update log, will last until 25 October 2026.

Before you start: your character's race

On the title screen there is a Customize button. Everything there is just looks, except for one thing: the race. A race gives small bonuses, and some of them unlock their own fighting style.

Race Chance What it gives
Human 68% nothing
Skypian 15% the ability to glide (can be bought for 50,000 Peli)
Fishman 5% +10% HP, longer underwater, Fishman Karate style
Mink 5% +10% Stamina, a stun that breaks through blocks, Electro style
Vampire 5% +10% HP, Vampire style
Cyborg 1% Cyborg style

Most players start as a Human. The wiki recommends changing your race at the first chance. Race rerolls are easiest to get in Battle Royale mode, at events and from codes. You can find current codes in the post Grand Piece Online codes.

Controls nobody explains to you

Key What it does
W, A, S, D movement
W twice run
Q dodge (roll)
left Ctrl near a wall climbing
left mouse button attack, 5 clicks make a combo
F block (it breaks when the shield icon runs out)
M menu, including stats

To fight, first pick a fighting style from the hotbar (the fist icon).

First island: Town of Beginnings

You start on Town of Beginnings (levels 0-10). PvP is turned off here, so you can learn in peace. The quests look like this:

Quest Level XP
Find the Necklace 0+ 5
Defeat 5 Bandits 0+ 60
Defeat the Bandit Boss 5+ 80
Deliver a bucket of water to Sandora 10+ 100

On the island you can buy a Pistol for 175 Peli and a Rifle for 300 Peli. The wiki suggests shooting the Bandit Boss with the Rifle, so he can't hit you. There is also a boat shop: the Rowboat is free, and the Caravel costs 2,000 Peli. There are 7 chests on the island, and they are worth collecting.

The wiki recommends staying on Town of Beginnings until level 15 and only then sailing further.

Stats: how to spend your points

You get 3 points for every level. You spend them in the menu (M):

  • Strength: damage of fighting styles and normal hits.
  • Stamina: more energy for attacks.
  • Defense: more HP and a stronger block.
  • Devil Fruit: unlocks and strengthens the fruit's powers (it only shows up after you eat one).
  • Sword Mastery, Gun Mastery, Fighting Style Mastery: for swords, guns and fighting styles.

The most important rule: pick one main way to fight and put your points into it, and the rest into Defense or Stamina. Spreading points everywhere ends with a character that does nothing well.

Cheap fighting styles to start with

Fruits are rare at the beginning, so the wiki recommends starting with a fighting style or a sword:

  • Katana for 999 Peli on Roca Island plus the 1 Sword Style (1SS) style from Jaggy on Roca Island for 10,000 Peli. Damage scales with Sword Mastery, and you unlock all the skills at 200 points.
  • Black Leg from Yome in Baratie for 9,000 Peli. No race or level requirements, and it also gives you the Geppo double jump.
  • Rokushiki from Lifa (Mysterious Tower) for 10,000 Peli. It has 3 utility moves, but the wiki warns that as a main style at the start it deals too little damage.

Later you can upgrade 1SS to 2SS (Musashi on Sashi Island, 50,000 Peli) and 3SS.

Devil Fruits in short

A fruit spawns on the server every 30-60 minutes after it starts and disappears after an hour if nobody picks it up. It gives you a whole new set of moves, but after eating one you can't swim. The rarity chances:

Rarity Chance
Common 59.5%
Rare 26%
Epic 10%
Legendary 4%
Mythical 0.5%

From Friday to Sunday the chances for Legendary and Mythical fruits are doubled. You can remove a fruit with the Dark Root item. We break down which fruits are the strongest right now in the ranking of the best fruits in GPO.

Haki: the first two goals

Haki Where Level Cost and quest
Busoshoku (Armament) Ray, Kori Island 80 25,000 Peli and 25 defeated Yeti
Kenbunshoku (Observation) Rogson, Land of the Sky 165 50,000 Peli and 200 perfect blocks

Busoshoku increases melee damage, strengthens your block and lets you hit players with Logia-type fruits. It lasts longer the more you use it. Kenbunshoku lets you avoid hits (up to 5 dodges after full training) and see opponents through walls.

Peli and XP: how to grow faster

Peli is the game's currency. You get it from quests, chests, bosses and enemies. You can hold at most 1,000,000 Peli. In its guide for new players, the wiki says outright that the best way to earn is fishing.

For the next level you need your level times 10 XP, for example going from 162 to 163 takes 1620 XP. From Friday to Sunday the game gives 1.25x XP and double drops from bosses, so the weekend is the best time to farm. We will describe the exact route across the islands in the guide how to level up fast in GPO.

The road to Second Sea

You can enter Second Sea from level 325. You need a World Scroll from the temple northwest of Marine Base G-1 (the scroll respawns every 10-15 minutes). Then you sail straight west from Sphinx Island to Reverse Mountain and hand the scroll to the monkey. You will appear on Rovo Island.

The plan in short

  1. Town of Beginnings: the Bandit and Bandit Boss quests, farming until level 15.
  2. Collect Peli for the Katana (999) and 1SS (10,000) or for Black Leg (9,000).
  3. From level 80: Busoshoku Haki on Kori Island.
  4. From level 165: Kenbunshoku in Land of the Sky.
  5. From level 325: the World Scroll and Second Sea.

Along the way, pick up every fruit you see and collect race rerolls. Leave the weekends for farming bosses, because that is when double drops are active.

Most common mistakes of new players

  • Leaving the first island at level 5. Further out the enemies are aggressive and strong.
  • Spreading points evenly. One main way to fight, the rest in Defense.
  • Waiting for the perfect fruit. Start with 1SS or Black Leg, the fruit can come later.
  • Giving out your password for "free fruits". No honest person needs it. More in the guide how not to get scammed with Roblox items.
