The max level in Blox Fruits is far away, but you can get there much faster if you know who to hit and what to avoid. This guide covers the state of the game after Update 30 "Sea 1 Rework" from 5 September 2026, which rebuilt the First Sea and added secret quests.
Items for Blox Fruits are in the DzikShop storeHow leveling works after Update 30
The current cap is level 3000. According to the Blox Fruits wiki, Update 30 split it into two parts: you reach 2800 by normal grinding, and the remaining 200 levels come from Island Secrets, which are 40 secret quests in the First Sea (5 levels for each one).
What to know before you start:
- Every level gives you 3 stat points for Melee, Defense, Sword, Gun or Blox Fruit.
- The point cap for a single stat equals your max level.
- Quests give the most EXP. You usually have to defeat 5-9 enemies (most often 8) or one boss, and the reward almost always covers one level.
- Just hitting NPCs without a quest gives very little EXP.
- The Compass (Recommended Quest) shows where the quest for your level is.
Before you start: your fruit and preparation
Your choice of fruit matters a lot. In the First Sea, Light or another Elemental fruit works best, because the Elemental Reflex passive means weaker NPCs can't hurt you. Just watch out for bosses and enemies with Haki, because this protection won't stop them.
From the Second Sea it's worth switching to Buddha. The wiki calls it one of the best fruits for grinding, because after transforming, swords and fighting styles get a much bigger range and you can take more damage. In the Third Sea, where almost every enemy has Haki, Buddha is pretty much the standard. You can find a fruit comparison in our Blox Fruits fruit tier list.

First Sea: levels 1-775
Below is a short version of the route from the Leveling Guide on the wiki, which the community updates regularly. The key points:
- 1-10: you start as a Pirate and hit Bandits on the starter island.
- 10-55: sail straight to Fountain City and hit Galley Pirates, skipping Jungle. The guide recommends standing next to a wall so enemies can't surround you from all sides.
- 55-90: the Chef boss in Pirate Village, hopping between servers when the boss is dead.
- 90-150: Frozen Village (Snow Bandits and the Yeti boss), then the Vice Admiral boss in Marine Fortress.
- 155-500: Vice Admiral up to 220, Prison, Magma Village, Underwater City and the Fishman Lord boss.
- 500-775: the Sky Warlord boss in Upper Skylands. Yes, for 275 levels. The guide claims nothing in this range gives more EXP per second.
Along the way the guide recommends a few secrets that give 5 levels each and something useful right away: freeing the Ability Teacher from the ice (later you can buy Air Jump, Haki and Flash Step from him), raising the flag for Parlus (Black Cape), the lightning quest in Skylands (Electric fighting style), the key quest in Prison (Megalo's Coat) and the quest in Underwater City (Water Kung Fu style).
Island Secrets: only do the ones that are worth it
Secrets are new in Update 30. A few important rules from the Island Secrets wiki:
- You can do them in any order.
- Quest NPCs have a "Rumor" dialogue option where you get hints.
- Completing all three secrets on an island unlocks a teleport to that island from Middle Town.
- Some secrets can only be completed by one player per spawn.
- The last secret, The Finale, can only be done after all the others.
The Leveling Guide advises doing only the key secrets during your grind. The rest raise the cap, and a higher cap doesn't speed up EXP gain at all. It's best to leave them for the end, once you reach 2800.
Second Sea: levels 700-1500
You can sail to the Second Sea from level 700. You talk to the Military Detective, get a key, open the door in the cave in Frozen Village, beat the Ice Admiral and go back to the Experienced Captain in Middle Town.
The catch: the first mobs in the Second Sea are tough and give poor EXP per second. The guide recommends reaching 775 on the Sky Warlord and only then moving over for good. After that the route looks roughly like this:
- 775-925: Swan Pirates.
- 925-1000: the Orbitus boss in Green Zone (a server with few players helps here).
- 1000-1150: Snow Troopers in Snow Mountain.
- 1150-1250: the Smoke Admiral boss on Hot and Cold.
- 1250-1400: Ship Deckhands and Ship Stewards on the Cursed Ship.
- 1400-1500: the Awakened Ice Admiral boss in Ice Castle.
You can awaken Buddha from level 700 in raids. You can host your own raids from 1100, and according to the guide that's a good moment to swap an Elemental fruit for Buddha.
Third Sea: levels 1500-2800
You unlock the Third Sea from level 1500 after the Colosseum Quest, beating Don Swan and helping King Red Head with rip_indra. This is where it gets hardest: the islands are far apart, enemies have Haki and there are more bounty hunters. The wiki recommends a private server if you have the option.
The route in short: Pirate Millionaires and the Stone boss in Port Town, Hydra Leader, Kilo Admiral on Great Tree, Forest Pirates and Musketeer Pirates on Floating Turtle, skeletons and zombies in Haunted Castle, and finally Sea of Treats. From level 2325 the guide tells you to alternate between Cocoa Warriors and Chocolate Bar Battlers up to 2825, because Conjured Cocoa drops along the way.
How to speed up your grind
Codes and 2x EXP boosts
Current double EXP codes are collected on the game wiki's Codes page (codes expire, so check regularly). 2x EXP boosts are also in the in-game shop for Robux. The guide advises using them one at a time and saving most of them for the Third Sea, because you can't pause a boost. According to the Experience page, further boosts add up their time, but the multiplier stays x2. After you die you get 5 extra seconds to make up for the respawn time.
Raid Bosses give whole levels
Some bosses give levels right away, with no EXP counting. Dough King and Tyrant of the Skies give 6 levels each, Leviathan 5, and Darkbeard, Cake Prince or rip_indra True Form 3 each.
Boss hopping
Boss quests give more EXP and money, but bosses take a long time to respawn. That's why players switch servers until they find a living boss. Consoles don't have a server switch button, so it's harder there.
Mistakes that slow down your leveling
- Moves with knockback. You scatter enemies around the map and waste time collecting them back.
- PvP during your grind. It gives no EXP. The wiki advises leaving it for later.
- Farming Sea Beasts. They're better for money than for levels.
- Mixing up 2x Mastery with 2x EXP. The 2x Mastery gamepass only doubles weapon and fruit mastery, not your character's experience.
- Fishing instead of questing. A fish gives a lot of EXP, but one catch takes 30-60 seconds. The guide considers quests faster.

What is the max level in Blox Fruits?
Since Update 30 the max level is 3000. You reach 2800 by grinding, and you unlock the last 200 levels by completing the 40 secret quests called Island Secrets in the First Sea.
At what level can you sail to the Second Sea?
From level 700. First you need to do the Military Detective quest and beat the Ice Admiral in the cave in Frozen Village. You can enter the Third Sea from level 1500 after a series of quests in the Second Sea.
Does 2x Mastery make leveling faster in Blox Fruits?
No. This gamepass only doubles weapon and fruit mastery points, not your character's experience. For levels, what works is the 2x EXP boosts from codes or from the in-game shop.
What do Island Secrets give you in Blox Fruits?
Each of the 40 secrets raises your level and stat cap by 5. Some of them also give useful things for the early game, for example the Black Cape or access to the Electric fighting style.
Is fishing in Blox Fruits worth it for leveling?
A caught fish gives quite a lot of EXP, but one catch takes 30-60 seconds. The guide on the game's wiki says quests are the faster way, so treat fishing as a bonus.
