Halloween has started in 99 Nights in the Forest. The event began on Saturday 17 October at 18:00 BST. Below is what we could confirm in the sources (as of 18 October 2026).

Items for 99 Nights in the Forest are in the DzikShop store

What this update is

Earlier, on 3 October, the pre-Halloween update Helping Happy came out. The next big update was supposed to be Halloween Begins, and now it is here. Sites call this part Trick or Treat Part 1.

The event itself is mostly about collecting Candy and spending it at Happy's shop in the lobby. Since this is part 1, more parts will most likely follow. For now, none of the sites we checked give any details about the next parts.

Costumes: you can't do much without them

This is the biggest change compared to last year's Halloween. You have to find costume parts in the forest and put together matching sets to get better rewards. Parts drop from chests, from Cultists and from wolves.

According to the sites, the costume themes are: astronaut, werewolf, dinosaur, lobster, mummy and pirate.

How Trick or Treat works

A Halloween Candle activates a house, and your costume affects the reward. You can find Candles in chests and from Cultists (that means looting during the day and killing Cultists). Then you go back to the house at night and knock.

How much Candy do you get?

  • 1 Candy for every costume part you wear.
  • Four parts give 4 Candy.
  • A full matching set adds another 4, so that is 8 Candy per house.

Remember, this is Trick or Treat, so you may get a trick. The reward can be Candy, food, gear or temporary bonuses.

Badges

There are three badges at the start: Candy Collecting (your first Candy), Carving (carving a pumpkin at the station) and Costuming (Trick or Treat in a full matching costume). Carving is the easiest one. You can carve pumpkins during the day and leave the night for the houses.

Halloween Shop: what costs how much

The shop in the lobby has 10 confirmed rewards, costing from 10 to 200 Candy. The list is from The Click:

  • Halloween Decor: 10 Candy
  • Spooky Crock Pot: 25 Candy
  • Shrapnel Grenade, Fancy Dressed Clothes, Coffin Chair, Pile of Skulls: 30 Candy each
  • Spooky Braziers: 50 Candy
  • Standing Coffins and Candy Corn Bunny: 80 Candy each
  • Vampire Alpha Wolf: 200 Candy

ProGameGuides writes that the Vampire Alpha Wolf is a special Halloween skin of the Alpha Wolf pet and will not be available after the event. If you are hunting for skins, this one and the Candy Corn Bunny are at the top of the list.

What is uncertain

There is a mess around the Trick or Treater class. Some sources repeat data from last year, and the fresh table from 17 October has Fancy Dressed Clothes for 30 Candy and does not list this class. Before you start saving 30 Candy "for the class", check the class menu in the game.

You get Candy by playing, not by buying it. It is a currency from forest runs, not from the normal class shop that uses Diamonds. If you are only coming back to the game, in the guide on how to survive 99 nights you will find the basics, which also help when walking between houses at night.

How long it will last

The official date of Halloween Begins is 17 October, and the event list goes up to 24 October. However, it is not known whether the shop and seasonal features will disappear exactly then, because other sites give later dates. If you care about skins, it is better not to leave collecting for the last minute. From time to time, you can also check the Pocket Tactics update guide, which tracks the following updates.

Diamonds for the normal classes are also available in DzikShop for 99 Nights in the Forest, but they are not needed for the Candy event.
